I love the drama of the 24k gold against the charcoal darkness of these off oval shapes. Most of my earrings have texture on the backs as well, earrings are glanced at from the sides or backs so all of it matters.  They are made of sterling that has been embossed and oxidized and layered with 24k Keum boo with 14k handmade ear wires that securely close.
