These earrings have a mysterious quality to them. They look ancient and modern in equal measure. They are carved out of African blackwood and because I love stripes, they are 23k gold leafed, in a three step process. Gold leaf is a beautiful material to work with, leaving behind an almost painterly quality to the areas where it is applied. They are finished with 18k gold rivets and ear wires. Total length 2 7/8" X 5/16th wide at the bottom edge. These are one of a kind.
