This shape is one I have loved for years. It sits just below your ear, but horizontally. It is such an unusual shape and orientation that it always gets noticed. It has the feel of something ancient and newly dug from the earth. The technique is called hollowform, built out of a sheet of gold, thin enough so that the earring doesn't end up too heavy, susceptible to melting at every turn in it's complex construction. The gold was first textured and then embossed and only then did the building of the shape begin, a very labor intensive method but a form you can't get any other way. These are treasures to hand down, signature earrings, entirely hand built, of 18k gold. These are one of a kind.
